This is the blog of Angsuman Chakraborty.

let me tell you, this blog is full of content…lot’s of it!.

From javascripts to finding a cure to diabetes,

You can find it all at this blog.

check it out..:)

Blog Url: http://blog.taragana.com

Name: Angsuman Chakraborty

Age: 31

Sex: M

Location: Kolkata, India

1. When did u start your blog?
2003

2. Did anyone inspire you to Start a blog?

I had taragana.bloodspot.com from 2001. I wanted to start my new blog on my
server and have more control and customizability over the system. So
blog.taragana.com was born.

3. What powers your Blog? (blogger/WordPress..etc..)
WordPress 1.5.1, my hard work, custom designed theme and several plugins for
better usability.
Please see http://blog.taragana.com/index.pup/about-this-site/ for details.

4. Name 3 blogs that inspire/captivate/captures yr attention.

BoingBoing
PaidContent
Wired News (almost traditional media actually)

5. Your Fav Music

Devotional songs written by Ramprasad in Bengali.
Any song which forces me to think to contemplate.

6. Do You Blog regularly?

Nowadays yes, few times a day. I tend to blog in sudden spurts of activity.

7. How many friends of yours Blog too?

Two, Kyle Hart (Director, Axiope Inc.) & Edward Kiruluta (CEO,
LeenoSystems).

8. Did you design your own Blog?

Yes, custom designed the theme from scratch. Most of the plugins are also
developed by me.

9. What do you think makes your blog interesting?

The blog is rich in thoughtful content and original analysis of technology
and health topics.

It solves difficult questions on Java and web technologies (often with code
sample), explains hard-to-understand scientific papers in simple terms for
common man (or woman) and cuts through the fluff of traditional journalism.
Simple Thoughts is a labor of love.

The main weblog Simple Thoughts Blog is actually an aggregation of several
blogs like - Simple Thoughts on Diabetes, Simple Thoughts on Java Software,
Simple Thoughts on Google, Simple Thoughts on Spam Watch etc. Each blog
comes with its own RSS and Atom feeds. You can also subscribe to the
headlines (and excerpt) by daily email. Even the search is focused on the
current blog. So if you search on the java blog, you will get matches from
Java blog entries only.

I have taken significant effort to ensure each blog and each article has
highly context-sensitive related content and links to encourage further
reading. People on average read around two articles every time they visit. I
am hoping it would improve with the recent changes.

10. Your advice for people just beginning to start a blog…..

1. Try out a topic that you definitely enjoy talking about. Don’t care about
acceptability etc.

2. Avoid profanity, even though it may make you interesting to some people
(case in point Hani’s BileBlog).

3. Write when you feel like. Blogging should be fun, not a chore.

11. 5 years from now..do u think u will still be blogging?

I think so, hopefully not at this rate.

12. The future of Blogs…..where would it lead to? in your opinion.

Today traditional media like newspapers and television channels determines
by and large what we should think and how we should act. It modulates our
opinions to a great extent as they are the primary source of information to
the external world. It is easy to manipulate the common man by anyone who
controls large media conglomerates.

Blog allows the common man to become a journalist. It breaks the hegemony of
traditional media outlets like newspapers and television channels. It allows
greater freedom of expression. It gives a voice to Joe Smith and Jane Jones
(Tom, Dick & Harry if you are British).

However in the long run it also necessitates creation of better filters to
get to the useful content, from blogosphere noise.

13. your motto in life

“I do not care for liberation or for devotion; I would rather go to a
hundred thousand hells doing good to others, silently like the spring - this
is my religion”

– Swami Vivekananda

14. If you were not blogging you would……..

Perform as CEO, meet with my managers, think about our coming product,
contemplate, relax by watching some cartoon shows or on treadmill etc..

15. Google…what do You think about Google?

Google has redefined the search space for text as well as geographic search.
I am skeptical about its few recent ventures like GWA, for privacy and other
concerns which I detailed in my Google Blog - Simple Thoughts on Google

16. What do You think Makes your Blog Special?

Please see answer to Question No. 9.

17. what is your blog mainly about?

About Technology with focus on Java and Web technologies
About Health with focus on Diabetes.
Simple thoughts is an aggregation of several blogs as explained in response
to Question No. 9.

Please see http://blog.taragana.com/index.pup/about-this-site/ for further
details.

18. Decribe your blog in less than 500 words…

Thoughts and analysis on technology and health issues with original content,
code-samples, latest news and views from CEO’s Desk.

GOMI

blukattt

Age: 34

Location: Minnesota

1. When did u start your blog?

Gomi is still very much in it’s infancy, the first post was on
Thursday, April 28th, 2005 at 12:07 pm

2. Did anyone inspire you to Start a blog?

I don’t know if any one person inspired me to blog. I read Geoff Fox
, PVP
Which is more of
a comic, but he does have a blog, and the now defunct Pornblography.
There are lots more, but those were the ones from the early days.

3. What powers your Blog? (blogger/wordpress..etc..)

Wordpress (http://wordpress.org/) powers my blog. It’s open source,
and has a great community behind it.

4. Name 3 blogs that inspire/captivate/captures yr attention.

Business Week recently started a blog call Blogspotting
it’s neat to
watch a business mag try and figure out the social issues of blogging.

I’m also reading The Darth Side a blog
from the point of view of Darth Vader, it’s been really entertaining,
the geek in me loves it.

And the third these days would be FinkBuilt
blog this guy should be working for NASA or
at the Skunk Works or something. He’s a visionary and a genius. Again
there are lots more, but those three happen to be ones I’m watching this
week.

5. Your Fav Music

I’m a devout Metal-Head and classical music fan. All the radios in
my house are tuned to NPR and have Metal CDs/MP3s in them.

6. Do You Blog regularly?

Right now I’m trying to blog at least once a day if not more. I
haven’t actively written in years, so I’m trying to find my “voice” again.

7. How many friends of yours Blog too?

I’ve a few friends that blog. But for them it’s sporatic and they
might write once or twice a month.

8. Did you design your own Blog?

You bet I did. So many blogs and websites today are kind of dull and
flat. The internet isn’t just about content, if it was we would have
never seen the Mosaic browser (and later Netscape) come to pass. The
interent is also about visuals. Plus I didn’t want a blog that looked
like anything else.

9. What do you think makes your blog interesting?

I don’t know what makes my blog interesting. I think it’s still too
young, still developing, that in itself is interesting, watching
something come alive. I think it will be more interesting to see what it
becomes.

10. Your advice for people just beginning to start a blog…..

Commit to blogging, and once you make that commitment, stick with
it. Don’t be someone who blogs daily and then burns out only to blog a
few times a year. That is what forums are for.

11. 5 years from now..do u think u will still be blogging?

I hope so, it’ll be neat to see whats happening even one year from now.

12. The future of Blogs…..where would it lead to? in your opinion.

I’d like to think that blogging will open more people up, make them
more free about themselves and who they are.

13. your motto in life

Have fun with whatever you are doing, life’s far too short to not
have a good time.

14. If you were not blogging you would……..

Probably much of the same as what I do now. Randomly surfing and
working, while muttering to myself.

15. Google…what do You think about Google?

I think that Google is an entity that is evolving and growing, and I
think the masters of Google believe they have good intentions at heart.
But you know what they say; “The road to hell is paved with frozen
door-to-door salesmen”.

16. What do You think Makes your Blog Special?

Every blog, including mine, is special because it opens a unique
view upon the world at large. It’s a way to entertain and expand your mind.

17. what is your blog mainly about?

So far the blog seems to be mainly about sex, and while that’s not a
bad thing (we would not be here without sex) I think that other avenues
and adventures are soon to come.

18. Decribe your blog in less than 500 words…

Gomi, the blogs of outerworldadult.com reflect the views of a few
who work at Outer World and Outer World Adult, but do not reflect the
views of Outer World and Outer World Adult.

1. When did u start your blog?

I started my blog on the eve of the New Year, but started posting and taking it
somewhat serious in February.

2. Did anyone inspire you to Start a blog?

Yes, and no. I got into this blogging world by frequently reading an Islamic blog
run by a sister who goes by the name of Maryam. I was a frequent reader for about 2
years or so, and I always wanted to make my own. As I started my graphic design
diploma last year, all of a sudden I wanted someplace online where I can show my
work [temp. portfolio] and so I went about making my own blog.

3. What powers your Blog? (blogger/wordpress..etc..)

Ah, at the moment I’m
using Blogger. Hopefully once I get the time and money, the blog will be hosted on
my ‘official’ online portfolio and powered by WordPress. (Would you care to donate?)

4. Name 3 blogs that inspire/captivate/captures yr attention.

For fun times and a laugh, it’ll be The Smokers blog. Very entertaining. The rest
are just boring old graphic design blogs.

5. Your Fav Music

I don’t have a favourite, but umm … can we skip this question?

Ok, thanks.

6. Do You Blog regularly?

I try to blog as regularly as I can. You see, with many blogs out there, they blog
so much that over time it gets boring. I try to find a balance when bloggin’ as I
don’t want to overbore the readers or put them off with lack of interest. I do find
myself blogging atleast once a week though, and sometimes it’ll be personal, a
random thought, or something work/school related.

7. How many friends of yours Blog too?

Umm none. Yeah, nada. My little brother has one though, but he’s still trying to
figure how to create a new post.

8. Did you design your own Blog?

Again yes, and no. I got the Kubrick template and since then, I’ve customised it
myself. If I was to change the body and footer, you wouldn’t even be able to tell I
started with the Kubrick template. The header
goes under constant mutation and the comments have been tweaked many times. You’ll
find that every now and then, I try and tweak something better, with the intention
of learning some more HTML, or CSS if needs be.

9. What do you think makes your blog interesting?

Well I don’t really like to get big headed but I’ve had many questions about my blog
and also graphic design via my blog. I think I try to promote the world of graphic
design through a graphic design students life hence trying to get more people into
it. The fact that there is no set agenda and you can find almost everything on
almost every subject on my blog creates a variety and interest. Of course, I get
some of my work up as I complete it, adding bits of sparks whenever I do.

10. Your advice for people just beginning to start a blog…..

First thing I would
say is don’t rush into it. A blog is just like creating a website. You need a plan,
a sketch, an initial idea of what you want to blog about. Only then you can go about
creating a successful blog. Take it from me, I started with no intention at all and
had no readers. Then a few months back when I set the agenda to graphic design and
my life, “pow”, the traffic got rapid. So yeah, get an idea, and take it slow. With
time and patience, comes everything.

11. 5 years from now..do u think u will still be blogging?

Of course. One change would be though that it would be a journal on my official
online portfolio and this time not about a students life, but the life of a graphic
designer. Intentions are to also get a forum too for avid readers to join in
discussions and create their own. But heck, let’s not get too carried away now. Next
question
please.

12. The future of Blogs…..where would it lead to? in your opinion.

I think blogging is going to be something massive. Many people have come across it
and are even using it as a medium to advertise themsevles [products, services]. With
the increase of RSS, blogging is going to be on the continuos rise. I’ve seen
directors and maganers with blogs, designers of course, students, teenagers …
whatever the heck next. The President? I don’t think it’ll take over newspapers and
magazines, but it’ll be another medium that we can reach these things on.

13. your motto in life

Hmm my moto … I’d say “Live to learn, and learn to live.”

14. If you were not blogging you would……..

I don’t know, I guess I’d be creating my website. But the thing is that I don’t know
much HTML and CSS, and I think
blogging has greatly increased my knowledge in this and so I don’t think I wouldn’t
be blogging at all.

15. Google…what do You think about Google?

A monster, absolute monster!

16. What do You think Makes your Blog Special?

Well I wouldn’t really know. Although I’ve seen a huge increase in traffic lately, I
think everything on it is special. If I really have to say something, I would say
that I personalise everything. Yeah, I blog everything from within.

17. what is your blog mainly about?

Graphic design and my life.

18. Decribe your blog in less than 500 words…

Ouch, I didn’t pass my English so don’t be expecting any long words, haha. However,
yesterday I asked a web designer (we exchange services, I do print design for him
for free, and he says he’ll help me out with
HTML and CSS problems) and he said that he’ll sum it up in six letters [he said
words first the dummy]. “P.E.R.F.E.C.T.” Capiche?
