I love white and simple designs..this is up there as one of my favourites…,
check out her blog today..:)

Name: Nadine
Age: 19
Sex: I’m a girl…
Location: (really) sunny Singapore
1. When did u start your blog?
If you say started blogging, it was back in 1999/2000. However, there
weren’t any reliable free blogs at that time (or I didn’t manage to scout
for one) so I lost most of my archives of the old days. This blog is my
third blog that’s hosted and I just moved over a few weeks ago.
2. Did anyone inspire you to Start a blog?
Not really. At that time, blogging was really rare. I’ve been keeping
journals since I was young so blogging just came to me naturally.
3. What powers your Blog? (blogger/wordpress..etc..)
WordPress 1.5.1! I highly recommend everyone to use it!
4. Name 3 blogs that inspire/captivate/captures yr attention.
Alex - alexthegirl
Dene - Unfortunately, she doesn’t like her URL to be advertised (sorry).
Very sadly, I can only find 2 blogs.
5. Your Fav Music
Oh, this is hard. It ranges on what I want to hear. Hip hop, punk, some pop,
alternative… I like dance and techno too (much despised, sadly). As a
(really amateur) songwriter, my music has more of a Lene Marlin sound
influenced by Jewel. I’m a big fan of them.
6. Do You Blog regularly?
Most of the time, yes. The only time I go on a week-long hiatus is usually
when I’m away at camp and there’s no internet connections. Or at times, when
I lack the inspiration to blog. It happens sometimes.
7. How many friends of yours Blog too?
Online or offline? Most of my online friends blog because that’s how I met
them! Not all my offline friends blogs. Most of them are girls but I don’t
really like their style of blogging. It’s too messy, boring, and most of the
time, hard to read. Majority of my guy friends are too lazy to blog.
8. Did you design your own Blog?
Yes! It’s my first theme for WordPress that I can proudly go “Copyright to
Nadine Su. All rights reserved.” instead of “Some rights reserved.” Most of
my past designs usually contain an image that doesn’t belong to me. So from
now on, my brain must be constantly working to create designs that are
totally mine. Then again, maybe I should work on my photography skills.
9. What do you think makes your blog interesting?
I’ve been told by a few of my readers that it’s the way I blog - my style of
writing. There are times when I blog my entries in a narrative-story format
that tells people a story instead of a real-life account.
10. Your advice for people just beginning to start a blog…..
Think of who you want to target and who you’re blogging for: yourself, or
for others to read? Content is rather important since that’s what people
come to your site for. A design that is pleasing wouldn’t hurt. I’m sure
you’d like something that is readable and not screaming pink and neon green
at the same time.
11. 5 years from now..do u think u will still be blogging?
Definitely! I’ve been blogging 5 years ago! 5 more years wouldn’t hurt. I’d
like my blog to be a place where it really impacts people. I’d like some
readers to come back and tell me, “Hey, whatever you wrote back then, it
touched and changed me.” Okay, not a dramatic change but a small one is
enough to make me feel pleased.
12. The future of Blogs…..where would it lead to? in your opinion.
I’m not too sure. Blogging now has become more like a trend, an ‘in’ thing
that people blog to be part of this blogging crowd. I’ve known some people
who start a blog but end up not updating it a few weeks later, or blog just
once a month or even less. I’ve also seen others who portray themselves
vulgarly online just to attract attention. It saddens me to think that this
is how the blogging scene has become.
13. your motto in life
Expect the worst and you’ll never be disappointed.
(I’m sorry I can be such a pessimist at times.)
14. If you were not blogging you would……..
… be venting my utmost frustrations on a poor pillow.
15. Google…what do You think about Google?
I’d love to be able to work there for the rest of my life. Are they hiring?
16. What do You think Makes your Blog Special?
Being a Singaporean, most Singaporeans would blog in Singlish -
Singapore-English - in which it is rather hard for my Caucasian friends to
understand. I blog in (not-so-perfect, but almost there) English but with
Singapore style. Then again, that’s what I think. Not too sure about my
readers though…
17. what is your blog mainly about?
Nothing focused. Bits and pieces of my life, some childhood memories and
histories, about myself, some of my really odd thoughts, pictures of my
fun-filled life… It also showcases some of my poetry. I like writing.
18. Decribe your blog in less than 500 words…
The thoughts, stories and poetry of a 19-year-old going on 20 but still
feels (and looks) like a 14-year-old. A place that hopes to touch people.
*A big thank you to Nadine for taking some time to answer this questions..much appreciated..:)
The Bleeding Edge Of Reality….
May 15, 2005

This week’s blog On showcase is from Mr.Kevin Mccarthy.
Blog Url:The Bledding Edge Of Reality
Name:Kevin McCarthy
Age: 39
Sex: M
Location:
1. When did u start your blog?
October 29, 2004
2. Did anyone inspire you to Start a blog?
I’d have to say that Maddox and Steve of TheSneeze are my two biggest inspirations. Maddox for his simple yet very effective design to present his take on everything and his fearless approach to observational humor, and TheSneeze for the diverse, professional, progressive, and hilarious content.
3. What powers your Blog? (blogger/wordpress..etc..)
Wordpress!
4. Name 3 blogs that inspire/captivate/captures yr attention.
My fav blogs are:
The best page in the universe - maddox
TheSneeze - thesneeze
BoingBoing - boingboing
5. Your Fav Music
I am a musician…a guitarist, so I appreciate a lot of styles of music, but currently I play and dig metal the most. Old-school metal is in my current rotations: Megadeth, Iron Maiden, Pantera, Anthrax, HarmFamily
6. Do You Blog regularly?
I like to think that I blog regularly. Sometimes life takes a bit of my time away from my blogging neds, but I’m a network engineer, and therefore an ubergeek, so my blog has really become a part of me, and I really miss it if I don’t blog on a regular basis.
7. How many friends of yours Blog too?
Not too many…a few fellow musicians, though a LOT of my friends have asked and are really interested in starting their own since I started one.
8. Did you design your own Blog?
Well, I used the Trident theme for Wordpress and then got busy making my own header graphics, sidebar layouts, and color schemes. It’s not entirely my own unique design, but it’s a evolving process that implements contant change.
9. What do you think makes your blog interesting?
I think what draws folks to my blog and makes it intersting is my straight forward approach to addressing situations, issues, and items that affect everyone else at some level on any given day. I tend to rant quite a bit on my blog about all sorts of irritations. Driving issues make me crazy! I’m a bit of a wordsmith, though I mix it up with a healthy dose of straight forward crude content and no-holds-barred obscenities (hey, gotta keep it honest!
) The ranting is balanced with observational humor, movie reviews, political opinions, and some worldpress news feeds to offset some of the opinionated content. In a nutshell, my blog is interesting because it’s honest, straight forward, and offers a sometimes humorous take on everyday issues that most can relate to.
10. Your advice for people just beginning to start a blog…..
Take your time finding the right software! I got into it primarily because I’m a geek and was as infatuated with setting up blogging software and associated backend processes (MySQL, PHP, etc) as I am with posting my thoughts in an easily accessible format for folks to read and enjoy. If you have a need to communicate, blogging makes an effective and intersting way to do it.
11. 5 years from now..do u think u will still be blogging?
Without a doubt!
12. The future of Blogs…..where would it lead to? in your opinion.
Blogs have become so prevalent and diverse that the future is limitless. I think blogs serve so many purposes, they’re sort of the stem cells of the www. They can become all manner of end product…anything from a simple journal of ones thoughts to a very complex system of presenting all sorts of data to the end user…downloads, news, opinions, and forums.
13. your motto in life
Be yourself!! You’ll find being yourself is easy, appreciated, and rewarding.
14. If you were not blogging you would……..
…be missing out on a valuable part of being able to express myself. I have a lot to learn about blogging and the breadth and scope of what roles blogs play on the net, but I’ve jumped in with both feet and enjoy every bit of it.
15. Google…what do You think about Google?
I LOVE Google! Google is the benchmark of what every search engine should be. It is the alpha toolkit for information gathering, and I use google every day.
16. What do You think Makes your Blog Special?
My blog is special because it is a window to what I am. I use my blog to speak my mind…to say precicely what’s on my mind…a platform for me to make my stand and say my piece. That it’s entertaining to others is an absolute bonus and a high. Sometimes controversial, sometimes crude, sometimes thoughtful, sometimes even brief, but it’s me. As I said, I’m a guitarist, a performer, and blogging is an extension of performing for me to an extent.
17. what is your blog mainly about?
Me. It’s about what I think and feel about everyday events. My musings and rantings about all sorts of things that affect everyone. I think that open minded folks and folks who are honest with themselves can find something that they can relate to in their own lives on The Bleeding Edge of Reality.
18. Decribe your blog in less than 500 words…
The Bleeding Edge of Reality is a very small corner of the blogosphere that’s been inspired by a number of factors; what I’ve found enjoyable to read on the net, my need to express myself, and a place that doesn’t make a real difference. That others enjoy reading it makes it very special to me. I don’t necessarily write with others in mind. In other words, the content itself isn’t inspired by a need to entertain, but as I write I’m mindful that it’s a blog, and is by it’s very nature something to be read by others. I’ve found a method to express myself in a forum that others can enjoy, and to me that is a perfect system, a perfect balance. It’s sometimes crude, sometimes inciteful, sometimes blunt, but there’s something there for anyone who’s open minded enough to get past a bit of “colorful languageâ€. My blog is a part of me that I am fortunate enough to be able to share with the rest of the world.
Part 2 of VideoBlogs…
May 15, 2005
This is part 2 of review on Videoaddon.com
Firstly I would Like to take this opportunity to thank Videoaddon.com
particularly Mr. Steve Mulgrave CRM for Videoaddon.com.
I will be interviewing Mr. Steve in the final part of this review in part 3 (coming soon).
Videoaddon.com was gracious enough to give me
a test account for their services, Below is my experience with their service:
1. Receives E-mail from Mr. Steve concerning willingness for an interview
and also informs me that i’ll be able to have a Test account.
2. Goes ahead to try out thier service, First page i see is the member’s Log-in page

3.Logged-in and gets the feel of the control panel.

4. Straight to the upload page i headed to!!..:D

I Uploaded My favourite Football (soccer) Clip (.wmv format). Below is the clip,
warning though…if you have dial-up..than you aint gonna enjoy the wait…..but if you have Broadband..click play!
*P.S The second and Third Goal is a complete, fantastic goal!!..wait for it!..;)
5. After uploading your video you will see this screen, telling you that
your upload was sucessful and now if was being converted ( to flash) and will take a few minutes.
For me it took 10 minutes..which is quite fast indeed..:)

6.Besides just uploading clips from your Hard drive, You can also do a live recording if you have a webcam
(a microphone would be a plus
)

7. Another feature is the ability to do some minor adjusments on how you
want your clip to appear
Also a cool feature is (if you turn it on) the ability for automatic blog post of your video
upload to your Blogger or Typepad Blog.
This are the two popular blogging software that Videoaddons.com currently support for
automatic blog-post.
But no worries it works with any blog software
as evident in this blog powered By Wordpress.
After your video has been converted to flash, you will receive a HTML code and it’s as easy
as Copy and Paste it to your blog.
Of course i’ve only reviwed the blog aspect of thir service, but in any case you can place your video anywhere where HTML is used, e.g ebay auctions, websites
Stay Tuned for the final part (part 3) of this review as I interview Mr.Steve himself about
videoaddons.com.
If you have any questions about thier services please leave your question(s) in the comments or contact me, and i will try my best to include your question and foward it to
Mr. Steve of Videoaddon.com
Thank You.

Location: Melbourne, Australia
1. When did u start your blog?
October 2003. My blog is one of the older blogs in the blogosphere…though the oldest
ones are over 4-6 years of age… Most arent more than 6 months old. Bloggin is a
brand new phenomenom that’ll catch on real quick and…imho…change the way
some…if not most news if being analysed…dissected and delivered…
2. Did anyone inspire you to Start a blog?
Before i moved to Melbourne, I used to write for an online entertainment site that
covers the Singapore dance scene. The editor of the site got me into bloggin…my
passion for writin helped
3. What powers your Blog? (blogger/wordpress..etc..)
Blogger.com. Xanga is for f**kin pansies and girls who love pretty flowers and
dancin fairies…Livejournal is as dull as a turd…anythin else is too foreign for
me…speak English please…
4. Name 3 blogs that inspire/captivate/captures yr attention.
a) DarrenBarefoot.com – professionally done and interesting…
b) Omniverse (http://omniverse.blogspot.com) – this lady writes on every topic under
the sun…her depth and scope is amazing…you learn something new everyday just reading

techno and trance…Beastie Boys have been my obsession for 8 years now…generally…any
rock/alternative moves my feet…
6. Do You Blog regularly?
As much as I possibly can…on some days I blog 4 posts…on most days I blog 1
post…there’s almost always a post each day…unlike blog newbies who find bloggin a
chore…I don’t have an incubation period between each post…
7. How many friends of yours Blog too?
The tragic thing is…many of my close friends don’t blog…then again most of them
speak English that’s half-past-six…so I cant blame them…ive made many friends
through bloggin though…ehm…are they counted? :O
8. Did you design your own Blog?
I took a general template from blogger.com and re-designed most parts of the HTML
code…so yeah…you could say the design’s mine…it’s fun learnin HTML on my own I must
add…took me a good 6 months to understand the basics…
9. What do you think makes your blog interesting?
Coz it’s THE definitive blog to read…ok seriously…it’s rude…it’s in ya face…but most
importantly it’s very honest…I don’t write to win more friends…I write so friends
will win…I represent what everyone honestly thinks…deep down…everyone is a
critic…everyone is jealous…everyone hates themselves…everyone hates Bush…everyone
loves drugs…sex and rock and roll…
10. Your advice for people just beginning to start a blog…..
I wrote a lengthy entry on why aspiring writers/bloggers should never give up…

See no. 9
17. what is your blog mainly about?
“adrock2xander’s blog has been tested accordingly to tough international standards
and codes. Believe him, the blog is tough. It’s based on real life situations like
close-minded 16yo virgins turnin to her buddies to gang up on the blog, racial
attacks from oppressed Melbourne tram inspectors or overpriced Asian food. All tests
are done to make sure that the blog is made to last. Quality testing is part of
offerin a good blog and functions as an interestin and humorous read.â€

WorkingBath - Everyday We spend here is like a whole lifetime dying slowly
May 15, 2005
I was suppose to review ourmedia.org….as stated in the previous blog…but i’m waiting and doing a little bit more research, Thank You.
Ok, Back to Workbath…If there’s one thing on the net that gets my attention, It’s “simplicityâ€

I just love simplicity ( hence my love for google)
.
This blog is right up there in design simplicity and also usability.
This blog falls into the “personnal blog†Category, basically it’s all about the owner of this blog,
Mr. Wyatt Cready-Pyle
Name: Wyatt Cready-Pyle
Age: 16
Sex: Male
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
1. When did u start your blog?
November 28th, 2004
2. Did anyone inspire you to Start a blog?
Yes, many people in fact, not so much by the content but by the
design. I love the designs of some of these blogs/websites you see:
Hicks Design, Stop Design, 456 Berea Street, and What Do I Know just
to name a few.
3. What powers your Blog? (blogger/wordpress..etc..)
WordPress 1.5
4. Name 3 blogs that inspire/captivate/captures yr attention.
Acts of Volition, What Do I Know, and 456 Berea Street are my favorites
5. Your Fav Music
Nirvana, Sublime, and NOFX are the bands the are my favorite from each
of their respective genres. Some new music that I really enjoy is
Brad Sucks, Snow Patrol, and The Arcade Fire.
6. Do You Blog regularly?
I used to blog almost every day, however the posts had very poor
content so I decided to only post when I had something worth while to
say… and it’s still not very good content.
7. How many friends of yours Blog too?
I know 3 friends, personally, who blog.
8. Did you design your own Blog?
Yes sir I did, plus like 20 past designs. I’m never happy with what I
have, I always try to make a new template that looks better than the
one before.
9. What do you think makes your blog interesting?
The fact that there really is no specific subject that I write about,
I go from tweaking Firefox to morning the tsunami victims to talking
about my vacation to Chicago. Plus there is the also the fact that
people can see a new design for my blog about every month.
10. Your advice for people just beginning to start a blog…..
Well like everyone says, “Have great contentâ€. But besides that, you
might think about making comments on other blogs to start to get your
name and site passed around. Join a forum, I visit the WordPress
support forums once a day and it has gotten me lots of visitors to my
blog. Also it never hurts to have a great design for your blog, if
your blog looks like it was made on geocities, people are not going to
want to visit it as much as something that is pleasing to the eyes
like If..Else for instance.
11. 5 years from now..do u think u will still be blogging?
Thats very hard to answer… I want to say yes but I don’t know if I
will have the time/energy/content when I’m in school.
12. The future of Blogs…..where would it lead to? in your opinion.
A replacement for newspapers and magazines maybe.
13. your motto in life
Why do something today if it can be put off until tomorrow.
14. If you were not blogging you would……..
Sleeping.
15. Google…what do You think about Google?
I love it. The only that it could improve on is getting rid of the
censored searches like ‘kazaa lite’ and ‘wordpress’ < - WP was caught
spamming google
16. What does your blog mainly focused on?
Ugh, as I said I really don’t have a main subject that I stay on.
However there are three main things I focus on: my life, current
events, and tech articles.
17. what is the main color of your blog & why did you choose it?
Grey, I’ve always loved that color, it’s just so great. Every single
shade of grey is easy on the eyes and makes everything easy to read.
18. Please tell me in 500 words or less what your blog is all about:
Web design, my life, current events, and technology thats it.
