Exposed Flip Clock
August 13, 2008
A number of ways of telling time are available such as a sun dial, pendulum clock, digital clocks and watches. The latest clock to appear is the Exposed Flip Clock which looks extremely unique as it’s innards are exposed for all to see.
The Flip Clock is just like any regular old fashioned flip click which has small plates that rotate against a bent metal finger and when the clock rotates to a certain point the next plate drops down to reveal the next minute or hour. With this clock you also get to see the insides though which includes seeing the gears and everything else that keeps the thing ticking.
The Exposed Flip Clock is available from ThinkGeek and costs $59.99.

The theme song is the first duet to be used for a James Bond film in the history of the film franchise:
Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, producers of the highly anticipated 22nd James Bond adventure “Quantum of Solace,” announced today that multi-Grammy Award-winning and platinum selling recording artists Jack White of the rock band The White Stripes, and Alicia Keys, have recorded the theme song for the film, which will be released worldwide this November.
Their song, written and produced by Jack White, and titled “Another Way to Die,” will be the first duet in Bond soundtrack history. In addition to writing the song, Jack White is also featured as the drummer on this track. The soundtrack to “Quantum of Solace” will be released by J Records on October 28, 2008.
Marvin the Martian to be Given the Ol’ Chipmunks Treatment
July 30, 2008

Hey, a Marvin the Martian movie? That’s a cartoon from my childhood I could tolerate seeing on the screen. I mean, as long as it’s not in the live-action meets revolting CGI style of Alvin and the Chipmunks or Garfield. Of course it is:
Warner Bros. is launching development of a “Marvin the Martian” feature at Alcon Entertainment, with principals Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove producing along with Steve Crystal.
Project will blend live action and CGI.
Crystal, a former Warner exec with a first-look deal at Alcon through his Charlie Co. banner, developed the pitch as a Christmas story, with Marvin coming to Earth to destroy Christmas but being prevented from doing so when he’s trapped in a gift box.
Does anyone else think the idea of Marvin destroying Christmas, rather than just blowing up the earth, makes him a far more despicable character? You can want to blow up a planet because of comically inflated delusions of grandeur, but wanting to destroy Christmas (whatever “destroying” Christmas would actually entail)? That’s just being an asshole.
Johnson and Kosove told Daily Variety that “Marvin” will be aimed at the family demo along the same lines as Alcon’s “Racing Stripes” and “My Dog Skip.”
Thank you for providing the demographics in the only language I understand: Frankie Muniz movies. That clears up a misunderstanding I had where I thought this was going for an Agent Cody Banks-as-a-martian thing.

Banlieue 13 - Ultimatum
July 25, 2008

According to EuropaCorp the sequel to Banlieue 13 is in pre-production.
A three month filming schedule in Serbia this summer, with a cinema release in 2009 has been announced.
Both David Belle and Cyril Raffaelli are rumoured to be involved, as is Luc Besson, but exact details are still a bit scant.
If the two principles of Banlieue 13 are involved I’d expect there to be plenty of action and parkour.
