BUT, Lisa Haines, a spokeswoman for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, has told the media that
The Walt Disney Co. is NOT currently having talk with the goverment of Malaysia to build
a theme park in Johor.

“We are constantly exploring opportunities around the world as we look to grow our parks and resorts business. At this time, however, there are no existing discussions in Malaysia and we currently have no plans for a Disney-branded resort development in that country,” Lisa Haines said.

Disneyland theme park in Malaysia?

May 30, 2006

I remember a few years ago when my dad was sending me to school,we were passing by a popular
park here in Malaysia (Ipoh) and my dad said ” What a waste of land…many things could be done to make it better..to make it a place for the whole family…if only we could get the Japanese to come here with their ideas and plans…”.

Well, fast foward to today and we have UEM World negotiating with Oriental Land to bring the Disney theme park to the southern state of Johor.

I wish it was in Ipoh..but Johor isn’t a bad idea too :D

January 9, 2006

You can’t even donate to a charity organization in peace these days, or so it seems.
Lebanese billionaire Dr Elie Youssef Najem, has encountered some difficulties after
donating US$275mil (RM1.04bil) donation for cancer research.

“I come from a very important family in the Middle East and my donations to the National Cancer Council (Makna) involves people high up in Malaysian society.”

Normally i wouldn’t bother about this type of things, but appearantly in today’s evening news,
the billionaire’s claims of owning several (95 to be exact) businesses in malaysia have turned out to be a hoax.
