Pen Holder Digital Picture Frame
August 19, 2008
Picture frames have become more popular over the years. Now they are starting to show up in various places other then a regular frame you hang on your wall. The latest I came across was a digital photo frame built in to a pen holder.
Features
* DIGITAL PHOTO FRAME WITH PENCIL CUP
* 1.5″ LCD SCREEN
* HOLDS UP TO 70 IMAGES
* FEATURES RECHARGEABLE BATTERY
* INCLUDES USB CABLE & SOFTWARE
* 128 x 128 resolution, slideshow mode with adjustable settings, time/date display, alarm clock, rechargeable internal lithium-ion battery, cup holds pens/pencils/clips/etc., auto shut off, software and USB cable included
Although a bit bizarre it’s kind of a cool idea as it is an object you might easily have on your desk and ideal for flicking through pictures of your family.
The picture frame pen holder costs $32.99 from Gadgeta.
Sanyo 1080p LCD Projector
August 19, 2008
If a High Def TV (HDTV) doesn’t give a large enough picture for your needs but you still want that HD experience then take a look at this Sanyo projector. The Sanyo PLV-Z700 is an LCD projector that can project a 1080p quality image on to a wall/screen. Full resolution is 1920 x 1080. The projector has an ANSI Lumens rating of 1200 which doesn’t make it the brightest projector ever (actually, that’s quite low), but it is certainly sufficient for use in a darkened room with the curtains shut.
The Sanyo projector has an electronic lens cap that puts the projector in standby mode when it closes which is a nice little extra to have. As projectors have a habit of running seriously hot, the Sanyo has a large fan which the good news is that it runs quite during operation.
The throw distance is relatively short too on the Sanyo where you can have a 100 inch screen from 10 feet away from the screen. Unfortunately there is no price for this projector yet, but as it’s 1200 ANSI Lumens and supposedly an entry level projector we can assume that it should be a reasonable price… at least we hope

‘Righteous Kill’ R-Rated Trailer: Pacino and De Niro Do Whatever They Want
August 18, 2008
Here’s the new effin’ & jeffin’-filled trailer to Righteous Kill, a film only notable for the presence of Al Pacino and Robert De Niro, two actors once considered impressive to watch. I like how you can tell both of them have completely abandoned the idea of taking direction. Just from this trailer, you get a pretty clear image of what the set was like: Pacino shouting at the camera guy, “You, with the picture machine, keep up, ’cause Bobby and I are gonna be quick, and we don’t do take-twos!” The director just sits there with his head in his hands, “God, why do they keep reasserting how much they like guns? We know they like guns.”

Camera designed for the Blind
August 14, 2008
When I first read about a camera designed for the blind I was immediately interested as it just seemed like an odd few things to put together. However, after you read what this camera does you will be amazed at this little concept idea that could do very well.
The camera takes a picture as normal, but rather then displaying the image on a screen or print, the camera makes use of a Braille system which can represent what the camera sees and allow you to “touch” the picture. So that the user does not loose sense of the surroundings the camera can also take a few second recording so that when you flick through the images afterwards the user can touch and hear things that have been recorded.
Features such as syncing with other Touch Sight owners will allow pictures to be passed around. This is one concept idea that isn’t crazy and one I am looking forwards to the release of.

Dorian Gray movie now filming
August 14, 2008

Production on an adaptation of an Oscar Wilde story has currently started. The movie, an adaptation of The Picture of Dorian Gray, is now filming at Ealing Studios in London. The movie is directed by Oliver Parker and stars Ben Barnes (Narnia’s Prince Caspian) as Dorian Gray, and Colin Firth.
Above is the first still from the upcoming movie that is being descriped as a visceral, dark horror.
